Foods which help in better eyesight

  • Vitamin A rich foods-tomatoes and carrots are a rich source of vitamin A. Vitamin A helps in reducing the risk of night blindness, cataracts and also some age related diseases.
  • Vitamin B6 is also good for your eyes
  • Other nutrients like selenium and omega 3 fatty acids are good for the eyes. Omega 3 acids are found in certain fish and fish oils.

Other precautions which you should take

You should make sure that you keep your eyes clean at all times. Make sure that your eyes are always moist. Dried eyes might lead to infections. When you go out on a sunny day always protect your eyes as UV rays can slowly damage your eye muscles gradually. You should also wear sunglasses. Fix an appointment with an eye doctor regularly, at least twice a year, just to stay on the safe side. If you are prescribed to wear glasses or lenses, then you shouldn’t avoid it. While working for long hours on the computer take a break and look at something green for sometime. Also learn some eye muscle exercises. All this will help in reducing your strain to the eyes.
